The first thing most job seekers do is type a job title into Google. Like any other search, using the same keywords or phrases that your target audience uses goes hand-in-hand with showing up near the top of the list in its search. Job titles are keywords. They are like cookie crumbs that lead applicants to your treasure. Some jobs are inherently more popular and there’s not much you can do about that. But different versions of similar job titles may receive more searches than others. So it’s important to use the right job title in your job post. Copying your cute “sales ninja” job title from your company job description and expecting the best sales candidates to find your job posting is just not an effective way to find good employees.
